The Walking Group meets on a monthly basis to enjoy local walks.
Stepping Out in Suffolk, run by OneLife Suffolk, offers a wide range of Health Walks for all people. They are organised throughout the County and provide the walker with a variety of choices from countryside to more urban walks. Two separate quarterly/seasonal programmes are produced, one for Waveney and another covering the rest of the County these can be downloaded from www.onelifesuffolk.co.uk, or alternatively hard copies are available from all Suffolk libraries. The Mid, East & West Suffolk Autumn 2017 brochure is available together with one for Waveney.
Various gradings of walks are available from Grade 1 for up to 30 minutes on flat surfaces through to longer walks of up to 90 minutes at Grade 5 which can include uneven ground with stiles and a faster pace. You do not have to have health issues to join our walks, many of our walkers join our groups to improve their wellbeing and meet new friends, we work closely with the Ramblers so those walkers who want to progress onto longer walks may transfer smoothly to our local Ramblers groups.
Our walks are led by our amazing volunteer walk leaders who complete a full day's training, once trained they are supported by our Health Walk Coordinators in their roles. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for this great walking programme, please contact Client Services at OneLife Suffolk on 01473 718193 or email at info@onelifesuffolk.co.uk
